Art & Design and Design Technology

Art & Design and Design Technology are taught in 6 week blocks in each class and are alternated each half term. Starting with the National Curriculum, we use Kapow as the main resource to support all our Art and DT teaching and learning in both classes.

Creativity is one of our drivers at Trannack, and therefore Art & Design takes a prominent place in our curriculum. All our children have access to lessons that help them develop the core skills involved in drawing, painting, sculpture, craft and design.

Again, rooted in the National Curriculum, but following Kapow’s planning, the children explore structures, mechanisms, textiles, electrical systems, mechanical systems, cooking & nutrition and the digital world. Children engage fully in the design process from brief to final product and evaluation.
