Science
At Trannack, we want our children to experience the science curriculum – to touch, smell, hear and see the science they are experiencing and learning about. They discuss ideas, explore new concepts, remember facts and experiment.
We teach the National Curriculum across the two cycles covered in Praa Sands and Godrevy. In Praa Sands, EYFS take the opportunity to experience parts of KS1 science lessons before engaging in age appropriate tasks that are related to the 7 areas of learning. In KS2 the learning cycle operates over four years, with the children accessing the entirety of their curriculum in that time, with objectives that are normally covered in Y3/4 or Y5/6 grouped together where possible to create larger units of sequential work. Working Scientifically is taught across all units of work.
We use Plymouth Science resources as our main planning tool for our Science lessons.
