After School Clubs

Multi-skills club

Multi-skills club takes place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays after school from 3:30 – 4:30pm with a qualified Sports Coach. Multi-skills club develops basic ball and co-ordination skills and is available to Yr 1, 2 and 3 pupils. Multi-skills club has no charge and is funded through our PE premium.

Sailing Club

Sailing Club takes place each week in the Summer Term for pupils who are age 8 or over and who are confident swimmers.

Sailing is led by the Helford River Childrens Sailing Trust (HRCST). HRCST pride themselves in being able to offer sailing tuition to local school children regardless of experience and ability. We encourage as many pupils to attend as possible.

In 2017 and 2019 Trannack School were proud to come first in the Inter-Schools Regatta. The ability to sail and navigate safely and confidently on the open water in a variety of craft has a tremendous affect on confidence in all areas of the school curriculum and is highly recommended.

A voluntary contribution to HRCST of £30/ season is requested. PE premium also funds a donation on behalf of the school. Parents need to arrange for their children to arrive and be collected from the Helford River. Parent volunteers are always welcome.

Parents need to be complete an enrolment form and a consent form for their child to take part. For more information and a kit list please Mrs Stritt.

In 2019 Trannack won the HRCST inter schools regatta. Over 100 children from 10 different schools took part. Just for a change conditions were perfect (not challenging!) and all six Trannack sailors took part. Alex P, Samuel, Chloe, George W, Holly S, Ethan were the team. Before the regatta, they had to work as a team to create a sea shanty and brush up on their sailing theory and knots. They did this under their own steam, working hard in lunch breaks at school. At the regatta they took part in five challenges: kayaking, sailing, rigging, a sailing knowledge quiz, and sea shanty singing, earning points in each challenge. They worked really well as a team, and used each of their strengths to do their very best in each challenge.

Football club

Football club for junior pupils takes place on Thursdays from 3:30pm to 4:30pm and is led by Mr Tregenza, the PE co-ordinator. All junior boys and girls, of all abilities, are welcome to join. The emphasis is on working as a team and building core skills.
